Real Guitars
There are no plastic toy guitars here, the main instrument is YOUR guitar. Electric or acoustic, it doesn't matter. You can plug your guitar directly into your computer or just use your computer's microphone. Either way, JamGuru's technology will recognize the notes you are playing and provide feedback on whether you have played the notes correctly.
Real Music
JamGuru uses specially-produced recordings of the world's most popular guitar songs in order to provide you with an audio track that helps you at first to learn the song and then provides a backing track for you to play along with once you learn the song. From rock and country to pop and metal, you will find your favorite songs here.
Real Tabs
JamGuru provides you with high-quality guitar tablature and musical notation showing you how to play each song. If you can't read or don't want to use the tablature or notation, you can just turn these off and use the animated "falling notes" and their placement on the fret board to show you what to play when.
Real Easy
To use JamGuru, all you need is a PC with speakers, a guitar and either a microphone for your computer (like a webcam) or a way to plug your guitar directly into your computer (like a simple 1/4" to 1/8" adapter).
Real Fun
JamGuru puts the "play" in playing guitar. JamGuru keeps track of how accurately you are playing each song and gives you a score based on your performance. This score can then be uploaded to JamGuru's leaderboard and you can see how your skills compare to others'.
Real Helpful
JamGuru has a bunch of features that will help to better and quicker learn how to learn songs. In addition to using patented audio-recognition technology to let you know if you correctly played or missed notes, JamGuru lets you adjust the playback tempo of each song without changing the pitch of the recording.
You can also choose particular sections of the song to loop continuously in order to practice more difficult sections again and again until you totally nail them.
Perhaps the most useful tool is the auto-pause function, which you can set to stop playback of the song until you play the correct chords/notes. This gives you the time you need to stop, think and play the right chord while you are learning.
Finally, you can record your performance so you can play it back and review it later in order to hear specific parts that may need more work or to play for your friends so they can know how awesome you are.
Real Sound
If you are plugged into your computer, you can use VSTs or AudioUnits to produce authentic sound with amp simulations and pedal effects. You can open and use these directly inside JamGuru.
Real Tools
JamGuru provides you with a couple cool tools that will make your playing experience that much better. The included tuner is conveniently built into the program so you can tune your guitar right from your computer.
